This mural blends vibrant colors and floral elements with the powerful presence of three iconic figures: Martin Luther King Jr., Maya Angelou, and Bristol native Barbara Hudson. Created to celebrate racial justice and the arts, the piece serves as a tribute to their lasting impact on history and the Bristol community. Barbara Hudson, a trailblazer in the art world, played a pivotal role in bringing African American art to the White House.

This mural holds a special place in my heart, not only for its message but also for the way it allowed me to explore bold color and expressive portraiture—two elements that define my artistic voice.

Commissioned by the City of Bristol Arts and Culture Commission in partnership with the RiseUp Group. July 2022.
