The mural is inspired by the beautiful island of Procida, Italy, located off the coast of Naples. Pasquale, the owner of Trattoria A’Vuchella, had told me about this section of Italy having a special geographical location in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea where historically, all different traders could connect by boats and bridge continents together through a multicultural pathway. My mural highlights the connections between people and lands, something Bridgeport is deeply proud of.
